Rochester International Airport Receives Coronavirus Relief Funding

Rochester, MN (April 21, 2020) – Rochester International Airport (RST) will receive $2,479,991 in federal funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).

“Due to the unprecedented restriction on travel, RST has seen a 95% decrease in passenger travel,” said John Reed, executive director. “Our revenue has been drastically impacted by COVID-19. We are grateful for the funding as it will enable us to safely provide critical infrastructure to maintain and sustain operations. We want to thank our federal, state and local leaders for their leadership in working together during this most historic time.”

The money is a part of a $10 billion relief package provided by the Federal Aviation Administration to eligible airports in the U.S. affected by the pandemic. RST’s portion is a part of a $32.2 million contained relief package for airports across Minnesota.
