Therapy dogs make a significant difference in the lives of passengers, especially those with medical challenges. Calvin and Rye have formed a special bond over the last few years. Calvin’s trips to Mayo Clinic are more than a medical appointment thanks to Caring Tails volunteers Rye and Lindsay.

Many RST Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees are trained as Passenger Support Specialists and will readily assist patients with special accommodations or alleviate concerns about the security screening process.
TSA Cares is a helpline that provides travelers with disabilities, medical conditions, and other special circumstances additional assistance during the security screening process. Call 855.787.2227 in advance of travel with questions about screening policies, procedures, and what to expect at the security checkpoint.
Several quiet rooms are available to travelers who may need a private place to lie down prior to boarding. You may request access to the quiet room, with a bed and private restroom, by speaking with an airline or airport representative.

There are several ground transportation operators serving RST that can provide service from the airport to Mayo Clinic, hotels, or wherever else you need to go.
Visit the ground transportation desks upon arrival for taxi, shuttle, and private sedan services. Rideshare service providers such as Lyft and Uber also operate at RST. Signage in the Main Terminal indicates the designated pick-up area.
The RST Caring Tails Pet Therapy program is an opportunity to provide an enhanced airport experience, stress relief, comfort, and care to customers through interactions with registered therapy dogs.
Trained dogs and handlers visit the main terminal during peak times, visiting customers awaiting departure and arriving from inbound flights to provide comfort.
A Mayo Clinic information desk is located in the Main Terminal. Patients arriving through RST can receive information regarding Mayo Clinic, the Rochester community, and transportation information related to their medical visit.
