At RST, every traveler deserves a smooth and stress-free experience regardless of the language they speak. That’s why RST now offers easy-to-use, real-time interpretation services in its main terminal.
Launched in April 2025, this new service is offered through a partnership with online interpreters provided by Propio Language Services. These interpretation services are part of RST’s ongoing commitment to accessibility, inclusivity and exceptional customer care.
Language Support When It Matters Most
Propio provides instant interpretation in more than 200 languages, including American Sign Language (ASL). Whether a traveler is navigating check-in, boarding, or security — or simply needs help finding their way — RST employees, TSA officers and airline staff can connect with a live interpreter in moments. The Propio platform is accessible from any location in the terminal, helping staff provide support throughout the travel journey.
Two Ways to Connect
Interpretation support is available to travelers who seek help from an RST or airline employee via these methods:
- Video calls via tablet: A wheeled tablet near the ticket counter allows for face-to-face interpretation on demand.
- Mobile options: Staff can also connect using their own mobile devices via audio calls.
Who Benefits?
This service is designed to enhance the airport experience for a wide range of travelers:
- Non-English speakers navigating check-in, boarding or security
- International visitors seeking information or wayfinding help
- Deaf and hard-of-hearing passengers in need of ASL interpretation
Why It’s Needed
While RST does not track the percentage of travelers who speak a language other than English, the need for language access is clear in a community that welcomes many international visitors. At RST, offering tools like Propio ensures that every traveler feels heard, respected, and supported, from wheels up to wheels down.
