Commercial Air Service

The Rochester International Airport (RST) is served by three air carriers offering daily flights to Chicago and Minneapolis, transporting about 200,000 passengers each year, providing air service to Southeast Minnesota and border regions of Iowa and Wisconsin.

As an economic engine in our region, the Rochester International Airport plays a significant role in economic development, providing excellent air service to two major hubs and beyond to anywhere in the world.

The airport provides an impressive annual economic impact for the region of $190 million in economic activity, 1,624 jobs, and $63 million in annual payroll.

Air Service Development

With a top priority of rebuilding commercial airline passenger numbers to pre-COVID levels and beyond, RST has multiple unserved routes. Our community serves a catchment area of more than 800,000 people on the move due to the region’s aggressive economic development, led by Mayo Clinic’s Bold.Forward.Unbound initiative and Destination Medical Center initiatives. We have compelling business case studies supporting routes to Orlando (MCO), Dallas (DFW), Phoenix (PHX), Denver (DEN), Las Vegas (LAS), and Atlanta (ATL). Learn more about our air service development initiatives here and view incentives available to airline partners below.
